Bio

Charles E. Torres was born in New York City.  Charles concentrates on corporate and securities matters.  He has particular experience in representing investment funds and emerging companies in connection with private capital investments, debt financing and realization events.  He also frequently advises both buyers and sellers in complex mergers & acquisitions transactions, sponsors with respect to investment fund formation, and parties to joint venture and finance transactions.

Prior to joining RBR’s corporate group in 2000, Charles was an associate in the litigation department of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP.  There, he focused on all aspects of complex commercial, securities and employment litigation, arguing before both federal and state courts of original and appellate jurisdiction. He combines commercial and securities litigation experience and corporate transactional expertise to provide a practical blend of legal advice.

Charles is a member of the bar of New York and is admitted to practice before the Southern, Eastern and Northern District Courts of New York.  He is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and is a lecturer on venture capital on corporate transactions.

Charles is an avid skier and is the moderator of the annual RB&R Venture Capital Ski Weekend.
